Are you the kind of person who lets excuses run their life? If so, it is time to CHANGE. I used to let excuses take over and I listened to that voice in my head when I didn’t want to work out. For example, I would set a goal for myself to get up early and go workout the next morning. Going to bed I felt super pumped and ready to go. When the alarm went off in the morning and the bed felt extra warm and comfy I changed my mind. This is when I let excuses take over.
“It’s okay you will workout later today”
“But it’s Saturday, you deserve a day to sleep in”
“Just another half hour of sleep…”
They say that if you don’t get up and workout when you plan to that you will have a million excuses to not workout by the end of the day. I completely agree. Although, there are some people whom honestly workout better at night and have no problem sticking to that routine. If you are one of the few who won’t let excuses change your plan throughout the entire day, then good for you. Just try not to workout too close to bed time otherwise your body is still on fire and won’t rest very well.
For the past few months I have been going to these super fun Saturday morning boot camps down by the beach as part of my program. They are packed with positive energy, good people, killer workouts and SWEAT. I love them. I had always been too scared to go to them and let all the excuses in the world stop me from attending. Once I was doing the boot camp program my confidence built up and I started going. My boyfriend came with me the few times I did go and that was so fun having him alongside me! He just moved away for graduate school so today I have to go solo. I ALMOST let excuses run my life today. I did not want to get up on a Saturday morning alone and head to the beach by myself for the first time. I keep thinking that it won’t be as fun without him and that I should just do something on my own instead. We all have that voice in our head that tells us both sides of the story, but this morning I am NOT LISTENING! I got up at 6:45 and had my cup of coffee then made a healthy breakfast: 1 egg with spinach, 1 slice of Ezekiel bread. Yum.
This was a great breakfast to jumpstart my metabolism and gives me energy to get me through my workout! Now it’s off to the beach for me because I am not letting my excuses hold me back today. Are you? Think about what your goals are and actually DO them today. I can guarantee you that you will be happy you did it. Happy Saturday!
